Commercial Construction Industry Embracing Sustainability
I’ve long believed it’s our responsibility to protect our planet. It is exciting to see the commercial construction industry’s willingness to embrace sustainability, often through LEED-certified projects.

Eliminate Waste With Greener Alternatives
In my article “It’s Becoming Easier to Go Green” published by Construct America I share the sustainable accomplishments of Climate Pledge Arena and remind my peers how they can eliminate waste on job sites and why Hilmerson Safety® products are greener alternatives.
Sometimes we all need reminding that “cheaper” may cost us all more in the long run. At one time or another, most of us have bought equipment (or personal items) that didn’t last as long or work as well as anticipated, and it gets tossed into the trash.
Keeping Lumber Out of Landfills
Hilmerson Safety® products’ greater durability do more than give you new revenue streams. They also keep lumber and shorter lived products out of landfills. They help preserve our planet’s natural resources.
And as I pointed out in the article, Hilmerson Safety® plants a tree in a U.S. national forest for every 10-foot guard rail panel we sell, on behalf of the contractor who bought it. As of July 2022, we’ve planted 5,258 trees in our national forests. That feels good.
