Protecting Progress
Poised to reshape the city’s energy landscape for years to come, the Champlain to Hudson Power Express is a $6B, 339 mile underground DC transmission line bringing 1250 MW of clean, renewable hydropower energy to NYC.
The power is generated from a hydro-electric dam in Quebec, Canada and terminates in Queens, New York. Contractor Kiewit is responsible for building the “terrestrial” portion of the line which is an underground cable, approximately 140 miles.
Safeguarding the underground utility construction site with durable barrier fence perimeter protection.
Among the arsenal of products deployed are 950 linear feet of 10’ x 4’ heavy-duty Hilmerson Barrier Fence System™ (HBFS), 192 of our patented 7” Side Saddle Brackets™, along with top clamps, temporary access gates, hinge clamps, and spacer panels.
The heavy-duty barrier fence system is not only durable but also offer the flexibility needed to adapt to the dynamic nature of the construction site. Whether deterring unauthorized access or ensuring the safety of workers and equipment, these barriers stand as a steadfast line of defense.
Hilmerson’s patented 7” Side Saddle Brackets™ have proven to be invaluable in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of construction perimeter protection. With a drop-in permanent anchor that eliminates offsetting future fence panel installations these innovative brackets minimize damage to barriers and speed-up installation time, streamlining the installation process and reducing labor costs.
