Hotel Construction Perimeter Fencing Built for the Long Haul
A major new hotel construction project is moving forward across from the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, and Hilmerson Safety® is helping secure the jobsite from the start.
The planned Omni New Orleans will serve as the headquarters hotel for the Convention Center, bringing approximately 1,000 guest rooms and extensive meeting and event space to the city’s Warehouse District. With construction beginning in 2026 and the hotel expected to open in 2029, the project requires perimeter protection built to perform throughout a multi-year build.
As construction gets underway, Brasfield & Gorrie is using 1,000 linear feet of the Hilmerson Barrier Fence System™ to provide durable construction perimeter fencing around the project site.

Securing an Urban Hotel Construction Site from Day One
Before a new tower starts rising, the jobsite itself needs to be secured.
Large urban construction projects create unique perimeter challenges. Crews, equipment, materials, deliveries, and changing work zones all need to be managed within a defined site, while pedestrians and surrounding properties remain outside active construction areas.
For the Omni New Orleans project, Brasfield & Gorrie selected the Hilmerson Barrier Fence System™ to establish a strong, consistent perimeter around this highly visible construction site.
The Solution: Hilmerson Barrier Fence System™
Hilmerson Safety® shipped 1,000 linear feet of 10′ x 6′ Hilmerson Barrier Fence System™ panels with 45-degree wire extensions for the Omni New Orleans project.
Unlike temporary fencing that can become an ongoing maintenance problem, the Hilmerson Barrier Fence System™ is engineered specifically for demanding construction environments.
The system provides contractors with a construction-grade™ solution designed for:
- Securing active construction perimeters
- Creating a strong, defined jobsite boundary
- Withstanding demanding field conditions
- Supporting long-term projects
- Repeated use across construction sites
For a multi-year project, perimeter fencing needs to do more than mark where the jobsite begins. Our modular barrier fence system is Made in America from heavy-duty steel, the Hilmerson Barrier Fence System™ is built to withstand daily construction activity and be reused across projects rather than treated as another disposable jobsite expense. Its construction gives contractors a durable alternative to conventional temporary perimeter fencing while helping maintain a professional, organized jobsite.
